Checa suffers fall as Qatar Test continues

Carlos Checa suffered a fall in Qatar today whilst tyre testing at the Losail circuit. He recieved a blow to the head and was concussed. After being attended to at the circuit took no further part in the day´s action.

On a sunny day with the temperature perfect for testing, all riders took to the track punctually, with a morning start of between 9 and 10am. World Champion Valentino Rossi, joining the test after last week´s Ferrari F1 practices in Valencia, was a notable exception as he made his appearance at midday.

His teammate in the Camel Yamaha team, Colin Edwards, explained that today´s session would be primarily a tyre test, without too many changes to the bike as a whole.

MotoGP rookie Chris Vermeulen spoke of his content with the Suzuki GSV-R, having seen what appears to be a resolution of the problems which blighted his Sepang experience. Electronic problems in particular seemed to have been corrected.

More news, along with all the times from day two, will be available on motogp.com at the end of the day.
