125cc and 250cc teams hit Estoril this week

The Estoril Circuit will this week play host to a three day test featuring a large number of 125cc and 250cc teams. For many of these teams the test -which starts tomorrow- will be the final chance for finetuning ahead of the Official Catalunya Test on February 28th.

The most interesting aspect of the test is undoubtedly the participation of the Humangest Honda and Fortuna Aprilia teams. It will be the first time this year that the two teams will meet on the track, with last year´s third place rider Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo going head to head.

There are other points of interest in the Portuguese practice session. Hiroshi Aoyama and Manuel Poggiali will make their debut in the saddle of the KTM 250cc, with the Austrian team in with a good shout for the title after a difficult 2005. Alongside them will be two 125cc teams, one headed by the Finn Mika Kallio (runner-up in 2005) and Spaniard Julián Simón, and another the youthful Junior KTM Team.

Kiefer Bos Castrol will have their first outing at the Estoril track, Anthony West and Dirk Hiedolf riding the Aprilias with which they intend to become best privateers in the category.

The list of teams attending the Estoril Test is rounded off by Derbi Racing and Metis Gilera. The sessions are scheduled to commence at 8am local time, and finish at 5pm.
