Lorenzo heads Aprilia quartet at first 250cc Official Test session

Jorge Lorenzo has clocked the fastest time of the 250cc class' first Official Test session, with a lap time three tenths off Dani Pedrosa's category record at the Catalunya Circuit.

The Majorcan rider heads a quartet of Aprilias in the top four positions, with Alex de Angelis three tenths off him and followed by Héctor Barberá and Jakub Smrz. Andrea Dovizioso, Sebas Porto, Roberto Locatelli, Yuki Takahashi, Marco Simoncelli and Arturo Tizón complete the top ten.

Takahashi, Simoncelli and Porto all suffered inconsequential crashes on this the first session of 250cc testing.

After this first encounter with the Catalunya Circuit, the 250cc teams return to work tomorrow for a session which runs from 10am until 6pm local time. Tomorrow is the final day before the main attraction of the MotoGP teams arrive to start work on Friday.
