Porto: "The title isn't an obsession, but it's a serious goal"

Sebas Porto will once again be looking to challenge for the 250cc title in 2006, having not experienced the best follow-up to his 2004 successes last season. The Argentine is in high spirits ahead of the coming World Championship, but still remains firmly grounded.

"The world title isn't an obsession, but of course it's a serious goal that I would love to achieve. I've been close before, and now that I have another chance I'm going to be giving 100% once again" said Porto.

"Everything is different this year. We're concentrating on fine-tuning the bike to my style and we are quietly confident of achieving good results, although a lot of work still lies ahead of us".

Part of Alberto Puig's Repsol Honda team, alongside Japanese Shuhei Aoyama, Porto has turned down offers to ride in the premier class in order to continue in 250cc.

"I'd like to take the step up to MotoGP, but only with a competitive bike. This year I had an opportunity, but from my point of view it wasn't what I was looking for, so I'm staying in 250cc for another year. I will reassess my opciones in 2007, and of course I'd be excited if it was possible" declared the Argentine.
