Ferguson: "Checa's success shows the base for development"

After Carlos Checa's success in last weekend's MotoGP Official Test, along with good results for other Dunlop riders, the tyre factory have much to be pleased about this preseason.

Manager Jeremy Ferguson spoke with motogp.com in an exclusive interview at the Test, in which he gave a glowing report on the deal struck with Yamaha Tech3 to provide their tyres in 2006.

"It's a culmination of a couple of years' effort. It's clear to us that to get back to a good position in MotoGP, you need a factory team and a top rider," said Ferguson. "We're delighted to be able to create this Tech3 partnership, we've got experience with the team in 250cc, and it's great to have the best riders and a factory team".

The Dunlop Manager sees Carlos Checa's results as a good indicator for the tyres' potential in 2006, stating that "Carlos' success shows the base of development that we can build on."
