MotoGP hits London for Media Presentation

MotoGP hit London yesterday, for the World Championship's traditional preseason launch for the British media. The Dominion Theatre played host to the event, which had a distinct UK feel.

After a video introducing the 2006 season, British riders Chaz Davies and Bradley Smith took to the stage for a short round of questions in front of the gathered journalists.

With bikes from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha unveiled, as well as a presentation on the improvements to the Donington Park circuit, the event wasn't just about the riders. Paul Denning accompanied his (half-British) rider John Hopkins to the stage for more presentations, also a homecoming of sorts seeing as the team are based in Dorset.

The fourth estate were treated to some media news of their own at the bash. The BBC's Belinda Rogerson announced that in addition to the channel's MotoGP coverage's continuation in 2006, there would also be an extra 30 minutes dedicated to the sport after the Sunday race on the channel's BBCi digital feature.
