250cc Revision: Jerez 2005

Dani Pedrosa was the victor in the 250cc Gran Premio Marlboro de España in Jerez last year, after a closely fought battle with Sebastian Porto.

Starting the race in pole position, the local favourite kept up a strong performance and finished in 45´36.679, managing to keep the title out of the grasp of Argentinean Sebastian Porto, who took second place, and Alex de Angelis who made it onto the podium in third.

Andrea Dovizioso, 2004's 125cc champion, slugged it out with Fortuna Honda team-mates Hector Barbera and Jorge Lorenzo to take fourth place, a good result for the Team Scot rider after making the big jump from 125 to 250. Barbera and Lorenzo took fifth and sixth place respectively.

It was a disappointing race for Frenchman Randy de Puniet. The Aprilia Aspar rider started in fourth place and had moved into third position until crashing on lap 12 to leave Casey Stoner in third, before the young Australian also went off on lap 13, opening the podium up for Alex de Angelis.

Italian Carrera Sunglasses – LCR rider Roberto Locatelli finished in seventh, followed by Honda rider Alex Debon in eighth.

Taking the final places in the top ten were Simone Corsi, the MS Aprilia Italia Corsi rider finished in ninth position, and tenth spot was filled by fellow Italian Mirko Giansanti of Matteoni Racing.
