Riders get a taste for Jerez

Ahead of Sunday's first MotoGP race of the 2006 season, three of the category's young riders took a trip to one of Jerez's top tourist sites today.

Chris Vermeulen, Toni Elias and Randy de Puniet all headed to the Tio Pepesherry bodega to sample some of the delights of the local speciality, before talking with about their hopes for the race and the season.

Vermeulen in particular will be glad that he is riding the new Suzuki GSV-R for the World Championship, and not the 1880 Penny Farthing which resides in the bodega!.

After taking a look at the worlds largest weather vane, the riders all signed a barrel of sherry produced especially for the Grand Prix, before taking turns to pour and taste a small sample. However, they assured that they would be in a fit state to ride in tomorrow's free practice.
