Sete Gibernau was the fastest rider in this morning's warmup, going round in 1'40 to head the table ahead of Dani Pedrosa. Loris Capirossi will start from pole, and got into the groove with the third fastest lap of the 20 minute session, followed by John Hopkins, Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi.

Hector Barbera and Jorge Lorenzo clocked the fastest laps in the 250cc session. The Fortuna Aprilia riders both put in 1'45 laps. Behind them were Andrea Dovizioso, Yuki Takahashi and Czech sensation Jakub Smrz.

Alvaro Bautista was 125cc's fastest rider of the morning. The Master MVA Aspar rider and Lukas Pesek were the only ones to go round under 1'48 in the 15 minutes of practice. This final and crucial day at the Jerez Circuit has opened with sunny skies and fine temperatures which are set to rise throughout the next few hours.
