Pedrosa: "It's still too early to draw conclusions"

Dani Pedrosa still refuses to be carried away with his second place finish in the GP de España, even though the debut podium place has increased talk of his title credentials still further. The Spanish rider, who yesterday took part in a clothes show, spoke to yesterday to give his point of view on the coming season.

"Nothing is certain yet. The situation in Jerez was unpredictable, there were riders like Rossi who had problems. We have to wait until we have completed more races until the table will really show who is a contender."

"My goal continues to be finishing every race and improving physically, as much off the bike as on it. We should wait and see how the others react, it is still too early to draw conclusions or to say that Valentino is going to dominate like has done in previous seasons," added the Repsol Honda rider.

Pedrosa also referred to the enormous atmosphere and pressure that he experienced over the weekend from the large number of home fans rooting for him.

"The next race will be calmer for sure, because I'll be able to move around more easily in the paddock. In Jerez I'd go to the bathroom and have 15 people behind me. Next week's race will be hot and demanding on the bike."

With regards the 125cc and 250cc victories for Spanish riders, Pedrosa gave his own opinion on the lower cylinder categories.

"125cc is very open, every Grand Prix could have a different winner. I think that in 250cc the overall level isn't as high this season, and we're going to see Barbera and Lorenzo consistently leading because there are other riders not pushing much until now."
