Remember: Grand Prix on Saturday!

As happened in the previous two visits to Qatar by the MotoGP World Championship, the second Grand Prix of 2006 will take place on Saturday instead of the usual Sunday. The change is due to the Islamic guidelines which set aside Saturday as a day of rest.

As a result, this week the program of activities jumps forward a day. Today sees the press conference taking place, with Loris Capirossi, Dani Pedrosa, Toni Elias, Casey Stoner and Harald Eckl present.

Thursday and Friday will play host to the free practice and qualifying sessions, according to the established schedule but with the difference in time of GMT+3.

Saturday will see the schedule delayed by an hour to coincide the race times with the normal Grand Prix timetable. The 125cc race will take place at 12.00, 250cc at 13.15, and MotoGP from 15.00. (Local times)
