The heat can at times be the biggest rival for the riders for the Grands Prix in Qatar, making riding difficult and uncomfortable. The running of the race in April, combined with the appearance of cloudy skies, have kept temperatures below 30 degrees, which has no doubt come as a relief to all the important team members, particularly the physiotherapists.

Dean Miller is one of those in charge of rider wellbeing in the Rizla Suzuki team. In the following interview, he reveals more about his role helping John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen with their physical preparation, and how they adapt to the heat in races such as Qatar.
