Jorge Lorenzo has racked up his second successive pole position today in Qatar, with a time of 2'01.755, breaking his own pole time from 2005.

Hector Barbera completed a Fortuna Aprilia double, with Roberto Locatelli and Alex de Angelis making it a clean sweep for the Italian factory on the front row.

Marco Simoncelli suffered a crash in the final moments of the session, although without serious consequences.
