Fortuna Honda go forward in Qatar

Track conditions at the Losail Circuit yesterday enabled the Fortuna Honda riders to work comfortably and earn good results.

Marco Melandri concentrated on his setup, and whilst on race tyres he clocked the fastest lap of the session, a 1'55.95.

The Italian declared that "I leave Qatar rather satisfied. We have done a good job, and in the end were able to find a the feeling we had before onboard the bike. I had fun again. We have been working on weight distribution, and the end result was a configuration that I like a lot."

"In any case we need to apply the same setup in the rest of the circuits. I'm not sure that the problem has been totally fixed, but I think that we have taken a big step forward. I am keen to try it out in Istanbul." Toni Elias also paid tribute to the developments of the RC211V during the day of testing, where he focused on suspension. "My assessment of the weekend is positive. In the morning we had similar track conditions to Saturday's race," said the Spaniard.

"We have modified the suspension slightly and that achieved the desired results. We went round in a good rhythm and I'm happy with the work undertaken alongside the Michelin engineers."
