MotoGP teams work overtime in Qatar

A selection of the MotoGP teams decided against a day of rest yesterday, undertaking a session of testing at the Losail Circuit in Qatar.

The fastest time in the hangover session from the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar came from Marco Melandri, who was the only rider to break the 1'56 barrier. Race winner Valentino Rossi was second fastest. As in the post-Jerez test, the Italian put in a few laps on the 2005 M1 in order to compare results and data with the current model.

Ducati made the most of the session to do engine testing, and to experiment with the Bridgestone tyres ahead of the next Grand Prix, which takes place in Turkey.

Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner both left the Qatari Circuit on Saturday, the young Australian suffering from a continuation of the flu which he battled with all weekend.
