Argentine Sebas Porto finished seventh in Qatar, a result that was a little short of the Repsol Honda rider's expectations but which allowed him to reach the figure of 100 Grands Prix points placings in 250cc.

It was in his home Grand Prix in 1995 that a 17 year old Porto started the phenomenal run with a 13th place in the quarter litre race. He has competed in 157 Grands Prix.

"I am happy for myself with the Qatar result, happy to complete the race after not being able to in Jerez. It was difficult with the fight against the wind."

"I'm also satisfied with my performance on the last laps, when I dropped nearly to 11th but came back to overtake Smrz, Takahashi and Simoncelli amongst others. To have won that battle, in which nobody was giving an inch, was important for me," he added.
