Repsol Honda lead team standings

The Repsol Honda team head the 2006 team standings in MotoGP after the first two races of the season, a position which reflects their strong start to the year and justifies the faith placed in young riders Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa.

Both riders stepped onto the podium in Jerez, which put them in the driving seat from the off. In Qatar, the second and sixth place finishes for the team made them the second most successful of the weekend behind Camel Yamaha.

Repsol Honda have an advantage of 12 points over second placed Ducati Marlboro. Fortuna Honda occupy third, closely followed by the Rossi/Edwards partnership.

An interesting note from the table is the performance of LCR Honda, running with only Casey Stoner, placing fifth ahead of official teams such as Kawasaki and Suzuki.
