Equal partnership for Capirossi and Gibernau

Equal partnership for Capirossi and Gibernau

Equal partnership for Capirossi and Gibernau

On paper, Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau appear to be the perfect team. Their MotoGP statistics reflect the fact that the Ducati Marlboro team appear to have no "lead rider" in 2006.

Gibernau has taken part in 143 Grands Prix in the premier class, compared with his team-mate's 122. From these races, the Spaniard edges Capirossi 9 to 6 in the wins stake, whilst the reverse is true for podiums, standing as it is at 30 to 31.

Both riders are inseparable when it comes to pole positions, with 12 apiece, whilst Capirossi takes the edge when it comes to top 6 finishes. The Italian has 61 to the Barcelona rider's 58, and has 17 more front row starts than his team-mate with 60.

The points total in the premier class for both riders is impressive, although Gibernau leads Capirossi in this respect by 1232 to 1171.
