250cc: New winner guaranteed in Turkey

With both last year's victor and runner-up in Turkey, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa respectively, making the move up to the premier class this season, the 250cc Grand Prix of Turkey is guaranteed to have a new focus this year.

Of course, Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo is the man to beat, leading the classification after consecutive victories in Jerez and Qatar. The Majorcan has thus far dominated the quarter litre class, although at this early stage in the season his position is far from unassailable.

Lorenzo finished fourth last year, behind the only rider from the class of 2006 to finish on the podium in Turkey, Hiroshi Aoyama.

Andrea Dovizioso, so close to victory in Qatar, finished well last year, whilst a number of this season's impressive riders can all expect strong results at Istanbul Park. Roberto Locatelli, Jakub Smrz, Hector Barbera and Alex de Angelis emphasise the quality present in 250cc.

Turkish rider Sinan Sofuoglu will be running as a wild card in front of his home crowd.
