Valentino Rossi is scheduled to make his 100th appearance in the premier-class at Turkey. Rossi has not missed a race since making his debut in the category at the first race of the 2000 season in South Africa. Here are some of the highlights of Rossi's career in the premier-class:

GP number 3: GP Japan Suzuka 2000: Scored his first points in the premier-class with a cautious ride to eleventh place.
GP number 9: GP Great Britain Donington 2000: Scored his first premier-class victory at in a wet race. This also was the first time that any rider had won in all three classes at Donington.
GP numbr 17: GP Japan Suzuka 2001: Won the opening race of the 2001 season to take the 500th Grand Prix victory for Honda.
GP number 30: GP Australia Phillip Island 2001: Rossi clinches his first premier-class world title by winning one of the closest races of all time with less than one second covering the top four riders across the line. Rossi is only the second rider to win the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc world titles, the other being Phil Read.
GP number 32: GP Brazil Rio 2001: The eleventh win of the year for Rossi. Only Doohan in 1997 has scored more victories in a single season.
GP number 33: GP Japan Suzuka 2002: Rossi wins the first ever race under the new MotoGP rules, riding a 990cc Honda.
GP number 60: GP Brazil Rio 2003: Scores his 50th podium finish in the premier-class in only 60 starts.
GP number 65: GP South Africa - Welkom: By winning his first race riding a Yamaha, Rossi becomes the first rider to win back-to-back premier-class races on bikes from different manufacturers and also sets a new record of 23 consecutive podium finishes.

GP number 79: GP Australia Phillip Island 2004: Secures his fourth premier-class title with victory in Australia to become only the second rider ever to win back-to-back titles on bikes from different manufacturers, the other being Eddie Lawson.
GP number 99: GP Qatar Losail 2006: Rossi wins in Qatar to equal Doohan's 54 premier-class victories; only Giacomo Agostini has taken more victories in the premier-class with 68.
