Faubel finally opens win account

Hector Faubel made one of his dreams reality this past weekend, when he racked up his first Grand Prix victory after an intense battle with team-mate and World Championship leader Alvaro Bautista.

The Spaniard finally stepped onto the top step after a 2005 season where he was close to winning on numerous occasions.

"It has been a beautiful moment and I'm really happy. I have been waiting for this victory for a long time and I want to dedicate it to my team, my family and everyone who has ever supported me."

"The race was really fun! I preferred to stay back for the majority of the race, but in the end I decided to take a little risk and outbrake Alvaro. It worked out to perfection. I am really happy because I have regained confidence and am in high spirits for the next few races."

The Master MVA Aspar rider's win came in his 69th Grand Prix, a combination of 250cc and 125cc races. He jumps to second in the overall classification with 45 points, 25 behind Bautista.
