Tamada experiences turnaround but Montiron remains dissatisfied

Makoto Tamada has seen a swift turnaround in fortunes in the World Championship, with the last 2 races bearing fruit for the Japanese. Tamada finished seventh in Le Mans, moving him into the classification's top ten. More importantly, he is beginning to enjoy himself on the bike and has reported a better feeling with the RC211V.

"I am fairly happy, because we achieved better results in the second practice session than in the race."

"I had grip problems at the start of the race. Anyway, the situation is much better compared to the start of the season and I hope it improves yet further in the following races," added Tamada.

Luca Montiron, Team Director for Konica Minolta Honda, bemoaned the weather conditions experienced throughout the weekend. "The constant changes have impeded our being at our best. Seventh place, sixteen seconds off the winner, means that we can't be satisfied. We are confident of being consistently fighting for the top places in the championship."
