Luthi back on the injury list

Just when it seemed that reigning 125cc champion Thomas Luthi was back to his best, the Swiss rider has suffered a repeat of his left collarbone injury at the German Sachsenring Circuit. He will be operated on today.

The Swiss rider fractured once again suffered the injury in testing, this time in a private session carried out by his Elit GP Café Elite team. The initial break occured in the pre season Official Test of Catalunya, forcing Luthi to miss the final winter Test in Jerez. This new setback could mean that Luthi will be absent from the June Grands Prix, although his team will still head to Mugello this week whilst they await the doctor's verdict.

With victory in Le Mans, Luthi had looked to have recovered his form after a discreet start to the 2006 season, affected by his recovery from the injury.
