Ducati present new Desmosedici RR street bike

The Borgo Panigale factory have chosen the unforgettable occasion of the Gran Premio d'Italia Alice to present their new production prototype. The Desmosedici RR is a replica model of the MotoGP 2006 transformed into a street bike.

Invited guests were presented with all the details of the bike, scheduled to go on sale in June next year. It will be produced as a limited edition of 400 models.

The presentation was held by Federico Minoli, managing director of Ducati Motor Holding, alongside Ducati Corsi director Claudio Domenicale and MotoGP riders Loris Capirossi, Sete Gibernau and Vittoriano Guareschi.

"It is a very important moment for us, a dream made reality," said Minoli. "The Desmosedici RR shows that we design things for functionality and not just for the sake of designing. Ducati and Italy are alive and kicking! This bike could conceivably race in Superbikes, but we will not be entering it into this type of competition."

Domenicali stated that "The Desmosedici RR is an authentic replica of the Grand Prix version. The technical level is extraordinarily high, and for the first time development in MotoGP has been translated to a streetbike."
