Riders visit the Basilica in Florence

British rider James Ellison, alongside Master MVA Aspar's Mattia Pasini and Alex de Angelis, today paid a visit to the Basílica de la Santa Cruz. The oldest Fransiscan church in the world and the pantheon of illustrious Italians such as Galileo and Miguel Angel. The Italian city's crown jewel contains works from Giotto, Brunelleschi, Donatello and Veneziano amongst others.

Built with the base of an Egyptian cross in a ‘T' shape, its interior is divided into three buildings. The Basilica contains many examples of renaissance sculpture. The riders also had a chance to visit the Capilla Pazzi, which holds the city's Opera Museum.
