Master MVA Aspar celebrate successful race in Italy

The Master MVA Aspar team were the outfit of the moment at the Gran Premio d'Italia Alice, with their four riders placing in the top five at Aprilia's home race. Mattia Pasini secured his first victory of the season after an exciting finish alongside team-mate Alvaro Bautista, edging out the Spaniard by one thousandth of a second.

The Italian explained after the race that "I wanted to win at home at any cost, seeing as I hadn't won a race since Montmelo last year. My bike worked really well and I want to congratulate my team for the job that they have done. I enjoyed myself a lot in the race and Alvaro, Lukas and myself rode at a fast pace. The feeling of winning at home is beautiful, the support from the people is incredible. I can't put it into words"

Bautista missed out on victory by a whisker, but second place allowed him to further increase his lead at the head of the general classification.

A successful day was capped off by a fourth place for Sergio Gadea, making a great comeback, and a fifth place for Hector Faubel. Both firmly maintained their positions at the upper end of the table.
