MotoGP teams stay behind at Mugello

After a spectacular Gran Premio d'Italia Alice, the majority of MotoGP teams and riders stayed behind for a testing session at the Mugello Circuit to fine tune their prototypes alongside their tyre suppliers.

A light wind brought the session to an earlier-than-expected conclusion at around 4pm local time.

Marco Melandri was the fastest rider at the Italian track, as he focused on manageability issues on cornering. Team-mate Toni Elias tried out a number of solutions for the problems that he has suffered in the previous three races.

One of the podium-placing riders in Mugello, Nicky Hayden worked alongside his technicians to improve the grip of his Honda RC211V, and spent the most time on the track with 73 laps. Dani Pedrosa focused on Michelin tyre testing, joined by other riders such as Makoto Tamada.

Ducati Marlboro were also focusing on their tyre compounds, and made some small tweaks to the performance of the Desmosedici GP06. Pramac d'Antin worked alongside Dunlop throughout the session.>/p> Test Mugello
