Guintoli back onboard the M1

Sylvain Guintoli stayed behind alongside the MotoGP teams in Mugello on Monday, in order to participate in tests with the Tech 3 Yamaha team as he did after Le Mans.

The French 250cc rider showed a positive adaptation to the M1, clocking a best time of 1'52.1. "It was a great day, as I was able to ride onboard a MotoGP bike from 11am to 4pm," explained Guintoli. "Unfortunately we weren't able to complete the day due to rain, but the work was better for us than in Le Mans."

"Physically I am well, I spite of the fact that I had some finger trouble with my right hand and my left ankle was hurting after the Saturday crash. I just need a rest now."

"In Le Mans I rode the bike with James Ellison's set-up, but here I was able to adapt it to my preference and make some modifications. I was progressing consistently with my times and I would have been behind Ellison on the timesheets, without having optimised my settings or having used qualifying tyres."

Guintoli will have his next opportunity to get in the saddle of the M1 in the post-race test of the Czech Republic Grand Prix.
