MotoGP riders visit Gaudi building

Ahead of the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya, there was the customary pre-event visit for a selection of riders, who took a trip to the Casa Batlló in the centre of Barcelona. Colin Edwards, home rider Toni Elias and locally-based Japanese rider Shuhei Aoyama soaked up the atmosphere of one of Antoni Gaudi's modernist masterpieces, a building which reflects the waves of a calm sea in an architectural marvel.

Gaudi was placed in charge of the building's reformation at the end of the 19th century, filling it with space and light amidst stone, ceramics and iron.

Tomorrow the action hits the track, and Colin Edwards has much to look forward to after having a great Official Test at the Circuit de Catalunya in March.

"Conditions will be a lot different to what we encountered last time out," said the Texan Tornado. The bike worked well there and I was able to take the BMW M Award in the special qualifying session, but the start to the season hasn't been as satisfactory. In any case, I like the circuit and we have made progress in the last few races. I am confident that I can have a good race with the new chassis."
