Julian Simon out for two months

Spaniard Julian Simon was another rider to join the injury list from the GP Cinzano de Catalunya, fracturing his right femur after a hard crash. The initial evaluation confirmed that Simon will be out of action for two months.

The Red Bull KTM rider was moved to a medical centre in Barcelona and will undergo surgery today. Primary tests indicate that it was a clean break and that the 125cc rider will be ready to return for the Czech Republic GP in August.

Simon, who has been among the points in every race this year, occupies ninth place in the general classification. Harold Bartol's team were also hit by disaster for Mika Kallio, who hit the ground on the first laps of the race and missed out on the chance to claw back points in the 125cc title race.
