Barbera to make comeback at Donington

Hector Barbera passed a physical examination yesterday and has been given the all-clear by Doctor Xavier Mir to ride this week at Donington Park.

Mir stated to the press that "Hector has healed well from the injury, and I believe that with his condition being at 90% he is ready to take part in the next race."

The Valencian rider commented on his delight at being able to return after lost races in Catalunya and Assen.

"I have been working hard over the last few days, following the rehabilitation plan set out by the doctors, and I think that I am ready to ride at Donington. I am not completely fit, but that happens in racing and I plan to go all out to be competitive. Watching the races on the television has been really hard, but I have been happy with the results earned by my team in my absence," said the Spaniard.

Dani Amatriain, Fortuna Aprilia Team Manager, also paid tribute to the performance of stand-in rider Alex Debon.

"The team are very happy with Hector's recovery and hope that he can continue from where he left off. I want to thank Alex Debon for his work over the last two races, he has given his all for the team and ridden well, showing that he is a great professional."
