Alvaro Bautista completed a day of Spanish dominance at Donington Park with his fourth 125cc win of the season, further extending his lead at the top of the classification to 52 points.

Main title rival Mika Kallio finished second after a tremendous fight with Mattia Pasini, finally overtaking him for the silver prize on the final hairpin, with Bautista a somewhat distant figure ahead of them. Hector Faubel and Sergio Gadea made it another weekend to remember for the Master MVA Aspar Team, as they finished ahead of Joan Olive, Lukas Pesek, Thomas Luthi, Nicolas Terol and Gabor Talamacsi.

The day was also memorable for British rider Bradley Smith, placing in the points for the first time at his home circuit. Twelfth position for the Repsol Honda prodigy made him the highest finishing home rider of the day.
