Heidolf returns after four races out

Riders always relish the opportunity to compete in their home Grand Prix, and German Dirk Heidolf is no exception. The Kiefer BOS rider returns to active competition after four races on the sidelines with a fractured scaphoid, suffered at the Sachsenring Circuit in a private test before the Italian GP.

"I am happy to be able to get back on the bike. Having to watch races that I could be competing in on the television isn't something that I enjoy," commented Heidolf. "My wrist seems to be responding well to our tests, and I am hoping that this weekend it doesn't rain. If we race in the dry then I hope that I can put some points on the board. It is both mine and the team's home Grand Prix, I'll have a lot of fans cheering me on and the support should raise my performance."

Team-mate Anthony West is aware of the race's importance for the German team. After putting together a run of four races in the top ten, the Australian will be wanting to continue his good form.

"The Sachsenring Circuit levels out the mechanics. One of the key aspects of the track will be the grip, and I think that we have an advantage as we have tested at the circuit. I'm happy to see Dirk back, and I'm sure that he'll be extra-motivated. If we were to finish amongst the top eight it would be a great result to take away for the summer break."
