Riders take trip to California rodeo

Ahead of this weekend's Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, a selection of MotoGP stars headed to the outskirts of Monterey for the traditional pre-event activity.

Loris Capirossi, Carlos Checa and Chris Vermeulen all attended the 96th edition of the California Rodeo, held at the Salinas Sports Complex near the Laguna Seca Circuit. They were given a special demonstration of lassoing techniques, and had a chance to speak with young bull rider Bubba Adams.

It was the second time that Capirossi has attended a rodeo, although Vermeulen has significantly more experience as a result of owning his own ranch in Australia.

All three riders will be hoping to stay on their MotoGP bikes for significantly longer than 8 seconds tomorrow, when they begin practice for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.
