Suzuka 8 Hours won by Ito and Tsujimura

Ex-World Championship rider Shinishi Ito and countryman Takeshi Tsujimura took victory at the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours race this past weekend. Onboard the Honda CBR1000RR, the two TSR-Honda CBR riders completed a total of 214 laps of the Japanese circuit.

Fellow Japanese riders Yoshiteru Konishi and Takashi Yasuda took second for the Hacpro-Honda CBR team, with another ex-MotoGP rider, Nobuatsu Aoki, third on the podium for Suzuki alongside Atushi Watanabe.

Tady Okada and Otsamu Deguchi, completing just one lap less than the winners, finished fourth, ahead of MotoGP rider Makoto Tamada and Riyuchi Kiyonari.

Texan Tornado and Noriyuki Haga, aiming to repeat their previous success at the track, suffered misfortune for Yamaha Blue Racing. Edwards was hit by another bike on lap one and was thrown to the asphalt, with damage to the bike forcing his early retirement with Haga not having the chance to take to the track.
