2006 In Review: Pedrosa makes it two

Dani Pedrosa took his second victory of the season at Donington Park, having dominated the second half of the race in assured fashion.

The Spanish rookie suffered a setback when trying to overtake Marco Melandri on the opening laps and, having made his way back up through the field to take the lead, set a blistering pace that his rivals were unable to follow. Valentino Rossi also impressed, finishing second although far off challenging the Spaniard for the win. Marco Melandri completed the podium places.

Pedrosa also closed the gap on team-mate Nicky Hayden in the overall standings, with the American finishing sixth. The Repsol Honda riders were separated by 26 points.
