Dorna agree deal with Nolan Group for commercialisation of MotoGP helmets

Nolan Group, world renowned for their products since 1972, have announced the signing of a licencing agreement for "MotoGP" branding on their Nolan and X-lite helmets. The deal was celebrated at Brno today with an official presentation for the gathered media.

Alberto Vergani, Nolan Group President, expressed his delight with the deal in a press statement after the agreement was announced.

"We're proud to have been chosen by Dorna as licensee for the manufacture of MotoGP brand helmets. It's a new project which moves on from the previous "replica only" status of helmets for fans. We believe that this product could become immensely popular."

Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna president, added that:

"We are pleased that Nolan Group have taken up the license to manufacture the Official MotoGP helmet. The company has a long tradition within our sport, and it constantly helps to improve rider safety."

Dorna, has granted the Italian company the usage of the MotoGP brand licence for two helmet designs, with the slogan "Two brands, two helmets, a unique philosophy: passion for races" key to their partnership. The helmets are as follows:

1 - The full face MotoGP helmet. Developed with the X-lite's most popular model, the X-801RR, as a base. The outer shell, consisting of carbon, Kevlar® and glass, will be available in 3 different measurements.

The inner padding will be formed from Unitherm, the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre, totally removable and washable. The cheek pads, featuring innovative Steadyfit conformation, will be available in a variety of thicknesses.

2 - The MotoGP demi-jet helmet is developed on the new Nolan N32 base, with the outer shell injection moulded with General Electric® polycarbonate.

The inner shell includes new inner ducts to allow a higher level of internal ventilation, whilst the inner padding will be made using a special tissue called Climacomfort.

The new demi-jet makes use of famous Nolan devices such as the Microlock retention system, the removable Neck Roll and the Vision Protection System (VPS), and will be prepared for the introduction of the the N-COM communication system.
