Hayden continues as BMW M Award frontrunner

Nicky Hayden heads the MotoGP field on two fronts ahead of the triple flyaway, holding the advantage in the World Championship standings and in the BMW M Award.

The Kentucky Kid is the clear favourite to drive away from the Valencia Grand Prix in a brand new BMW M ZX Roadster, the prize for the fastest riders in qualifying sessions over the course of the season. The Repsol Honda rider leads compatriots Colin Edwards and John Hopkins, second and third in the M Award standings, by over four seconds.

A surprising statistic from the competition is that out of the top four in the chase for the car, only Hopkins has taken a pole position this season, with Hayden only having started twice from the front row.
