Moment of truth for Red Bull MotoGP Academy hopefuls

Today marks the final stage of the exhaustive 3 day selection process for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, with the chosen riders from Monday and Tuesday's sessions joining up for the first time. Of the 170 to throw their names into the hat this week, 45 have been selected to show their skills once again at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana. Those to make it past this stage will take part in next season's Red Bull MotoGP Rookies cup, which will take place alongside various World Championship Grands Prix held in Europe.

Riders from the UK, America, Spain, Germany, France, Norway, Hungary, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Holland and South Africa make up the diverse selection of 13-16 year olds invited back today, battling it out for one of the 20 places in next year's competition.

The day begins early for the riders in comparison with the opening two days. The track will be buzzing from 9:30am, as four groups of young hopefuls aim to make their mark over the 20 minute timeslots.

All those to make it through to the Wednesday round, an achievement in itself considering the exceptionally high level of talent on display, took part in a photo session this morning on the home straight of the Cheste circuit.
