An improved public sports centre in Castellar del Valles (Barcelona) was graced with the presence of a very special local for its official opening, with MotoGP star Dani Pedrosa cutting the ribbon at the Catalonian facility.

A roller hockey field, three new changing rooms and a revamping of the grandstands were the main changes to the complex, which will also be used by local schools.

Pedrosa, who unveiled a commemorative plaque at the event, was accompanied by Montse Gatell (Mayor of Castellar del Valles). He also took time out to comment on the following races in the MotoGP World Championship.

"The remaining tracks aren't easy. I want to do the best I can in every race and get the best results possible. I trained a lot in Sepang over the winter, but this time I'll have to cope with the heat as well. In Australia the climate change will be sharp, with only two days to adapt."

Pedrosa received a shirt from the hockey club, adorned with his name and number 26.
