Capirossi starts fastest in Malaysia

As in Brno and the majority of the pre-season tests at the Asian circuit, Loris Capirossi headed this morning's timesheets in Malaysia thanks to a 2'02.769 lap of the Sepang track. Only former 250cc winners and MotoGP rookies Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa were able to join him in breaking the 2'03 barrier.

Fourth place went to Marco Melandri, followed by John Hopkins and Nicky Hayden under half a second slower than Capirossi's fastest lap. Shinya Nakano, the returning Sete Gibernau, Kenny Roberts Jr and Makoto Tamada completed the top ten. GP Marlboro Malaysia
