Bradl ruled out for rest of season

After an horrific crash during last weekend's 125cc warmup, in which Alexis Masbou hit him from behind whilst both were practicing their starts, KTM's Stefan Bradl has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

Bradl flew home to Augsburg on Sunday night, and on Tuesday underwent an operation on his fractured right tibia and foot fracture. The operation was a complicated procedure, but went well, although he will not be able to put weight on the leg for six weeks.

Starting with his home race in Australia, Blake Leigh Smith has been confirmed as Bradl's replacement in the KTM racing team for the remainder of the season.
