Iannone out for six weeks after Malaysian malaise

Another casualty from last week's race in Malaysia, WTR Blauer USA's young Italian has been sidelined with a back injury. A crash with Mattia Pasini's prone bike caused a restart to the 125cc race and, more ominously, damage to four of Iannone's vertebrae. He will be out for a minimum of six weeks, intending to make his return in time for the World Championship's visit to Portugal for the penultimate race of the season.

Back in Italy after the race in Sepang, Iannone will not have to undergo surgery but has been prescribed plenty of bed rest.
