200- Loris Capirossi's seventh place finish at the Australian GP made him the first rider ever to reach the milestone of 200 point scoring finishes in Grand Prix racing.

34- Colin Edwards' crashed out of the Australian GP on lap eight which resulted in him failing to score points for the first time since the Japanese GP in 2004, when he was involved in a multi-rider crash at the first corner. This run of 34 point scoring finishes is the second longest of all time in the premier-class; the only rider with a longer sequence is Mick Doohan, with a run of 37.

14- Alex de Angelis' second place finish in Australia was the 14th time that he has stood on the podium in the 250cc class without having taken a victory, making him the rider who has finished on the podium on most occasions in the 250cc class without having stood on the top step.

8- This is the eighth time that a Grand Prix has been held at the Motegi circuit, four of which have been entitled as the Pacific Grand Prix.
