Kallio fights back at Motegi

Mika Kallio took to the track at Twin Ring Motegi with a vengeance this morning, aiming to break Alvaro Bautista's stronghold at the top of the timesheets. The Finnish rider was the only rider to go round in under 1'58 this morning, ahead of a trio of Master MVA Aspar teams consisting of Bautista, Sergio Gadea and Hector Faubel. Thomas Luthi and another Aspar rider, Mattia Pasini, completed the top six.

Lukas Pesek, Mike di Meglio and Julian Simon were over a second off Kallio's time in the top ten, joined by British rider Bradley Smith.
