Pedrosa named Rookie Of The Year 2006

Still in with an outside chance of lifting the world title this season, Dani Pedrosa has already taken one honour in 2006. The Spaniard has been named Rookie Of The Year in the premier class, a points-based accolade. He earned the prize at Motegi despite a discreet result, when nearest debutant rival Casey Stoner was forced to retire after a crash.

It completes a magnificent triple-crown for Pedrosa, who has previously been awarded Rookie Of The Year in both the 125cc and 250cc classes.

This season, Repsol Honda's newest addition has taken 2 wins and a total of 8 podium places. He lies in fifth overall in the classification and could further climb the table in the remaining two races of the season.

The following video documents the best moments of this season so far for the most successful rookie of 2006.
