Iannone continues on the sidelines

Andrea Iannone will be one of the young riders forced to sit out of the bwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal. The 125cc rider, who suffered one of the most spectacular crashes of the season when he collided with Mattia Pasini's prone bike in Malaysia, is still recovering from the injury which forced him out of the races in Australia and Japan. A medical exam undertaken a few days ago led to doctors recommending that the WTR Team Blauer rider spends more time recovering from the crash which damaged a vertebra.

Japanese rider Hiraoki Kuzuhara, who rode and earned a point at his home circuit of Motegi in the last round, will once again stand in for Iannone. The injured rider hopes to be back in action for the season finale in Valencia.
