Dovizioso renews with Humangest for 2007

After confirming the renovation of Yuki Takahashi for 2007, the Humangest Racing Team today announced that Italian 250cc championship contender Andrea Dovizioso will continue with the team in 2007. Dovizioso has been part of the team since 2002, riding the RS 125 machine and, in 2004, took the world title with 5 wins and a total of 11 podiums in 16 races.

In 2005, Andrea moved up to the 250cc category and on the Honda RSW 250 he finished the season third behind Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner. This year, Dovizioso and the Humangest Racing Team have taken their first victory in the quarter litre class and the Italian has established himself as one of the most consistent riders in the class, stepping onto the podium 10 times this season.

After a number of offers from MotoGP teams, the support of HRC in developing the 2007 bike was a key factor in Dovizioso's decision to stay with Humangest next season.

"I am really happy about the agreement we were able to reach with the Humangest Racing Team and of the support received from HRC by guaranteeing us the development of this bike," stated Dovizioso. "In fact, starting from the post-Valencia test we will start to try out new parts. I'm very satisfied that Honda, the Humangest Racing Team Management and the sponsors believe in my skills and will work hard on the development scheduled for next season".
