Hiroshi Aoyama, on provisional pole for as a result of topping yesterday's qualifying practice leaderboard, was once again fastest this morning in Valencia. The Red Bull KTM rider clocked a time of 1'36.156, 0.65s ahead of Hector Barbera and Jorge Lorenzo. Andrea Dovizioso was just behind his 250cc title rival, ahead of Spaniard David de Gea and Anthony West. Marco Simoncelli and Shuhei Aoyama, both candidates for 2006 rookie of the year, were separated by Alex Debon in the top ten.
