Journalists have their turn on 990cc bikes

A number of the journalists and commentators who frequent the races of the MotoGP World Championship have had a chance to have their own go at riding a 990cc machine, taking part in the traditional post-season media test. Repsol Honda, Kawasaki, Ducati Marlboro and Pramac d'Antin have all opened their garages up and prepared the bikes to be ridden at the event.

Alongside the wordsmiths and quote machines, a number of well known racers also turned their hand to 990cc action, including Randy Mamola, Kevin Schwantz, Alex Criville, Outdoor Trial champion Adam Raga, BSB rider Gregori Lavilla were all onboard today, with the latter using Troy Bayliss' victorious Desmosedici GP06.

One of the most striking images of the day has been the sight of Loris Capirossi's father putting in laps on the machine with which his son took second place yesterday in Valencia.

After riding round on Jose Luis Cardoso's Desmosedici satellite bike, Raga stated that he was very happy to have been able to attend the test, and that he was impressed by the power and inclination of the retired 990cc bike.
